Scrap It Girl April!

Hello April! I'm going to be sharing the April challenge for Scrap It Girl. I'm actually hosting it so I put together the prize. The theme is bags and tags. Tags are one of my favorite paper items so I am excited about this one! Here is the prize I put together:
All you have to do is use a tag or bag on a layout, card, or any project really! Link up over here.

I made a mini book with a tag shape. I cut thin cardboard (a old cereal box!) with my silhouette. It worked pretty well. I found this American Craft paper pad at target and I am in LOVE with the colors. Kraft, neon, and navy blue work so well together. Most of the pictures are from when we got our pictures taken by a friend last November and a few of Preston playing outside. They all worked very well together.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you take part in the challenge!

Favorite Things Friday

TGIF! Today is Favorite Things Friday over at Scrap It Girl. We are sharing our favorite place to craft/sit.
So here is my craft area! A couple months back I moved my area into our living room because its quite large with lots of windows. Plus its easier to keep an eye on the kiddo. My parents gave me this awesome 1970s tanker desk that stores so much stuff! Plus it gives me a lot of workspace and has extra "pull outs" if I need more table space. It works out really well. Since I have it in the living room and don't have a ton of space, I don't get too cluttered or hold on to too much stuff.
Here's a couple layouts I had fun making with my silhouette!

I love this quote and thought it would work for this layout.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Be Happy!

It's International Day of Happiness today! I want to share this awesome website that the UN and Pharrell are putting out today: http://24hoursofhappiness.com/ Scroll through some of the other hours. They have people all over the world dancing, so much fun!

On this layout I placed with watercolors. I used washi tape to make a design. It came out pretty cool!

I linked up this layout over at Paper Issues for "Count Your Lucky Stars!"

I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Cherish This

I'm sharing a layout that I made with the Studio Calico Sugar Rush main kit. These plastic die hearts are so fun and I thought they looked fun on top of the picture.

Workplace Wednesday:
I've been making envelopes with my Silhouette. Wow! They are so pretty. I can't wait to try out more styles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Silly Momma

I'm up with a layout using the February Studio Calico Sugar Rush kit. I used lots of bright colors which made it a fun layout! I took confetti to make it look like it is coming from the clouds. I just love this picture too.

The Art of Sending Mail

So I have found a new love! I've been playing around with sending mail. It's fun to receive mail but I love sending it too. I think its so neat to know that my envelopes that I have decorated are going all over the world. I found swap-bot.com which is a great place to start. I only started in February but have already been able to exchange quite a lot.. I've also joined the Letter Writers Alliance.

I have a plan for all the letters I receive. I'm thinking of making a smash journal called "A Year of Mail". The stamps alone that are coming from all over the world will make a neat album. I wanted to share with you some of the envelopes I've decorated this week.

My Workspace Wednesday:
I'm cleaning out my scraps today. I'm punching and cutting paper with my silhouette. Everything I don't want is being trashed! A lot of the punches can be used on mail!

I plan to share more of my mail adventure with you. Let me know if you want me to send you some happy mail! Just email me your address - shecantread@gmail.com
Have a lovely week!

Let's go

So our crazy weather here in Texas is driving me crazy. It was 80 on Saturday then we got snow on Sunday with 19 degree temps. BRRRR! It is still pretty cold but will at least be in the 50s today. I'm ready for spring! I made this layout because I am wishing to be on a warm beach about now. I did a lot of stitching and sewing on this layout but I just love it. I can't wait for the Stitched class that Studio Calico is offering!
